Hair Loss and Thinning Hair

Hair Loss Treatment Solutions

hair loss Hair loss in women occurs at menopause, when estrogen levels decrease. Estrogen is the female hormone responsible to keep hair growing.

There's hardly anything worse than losing your hair! Statistics show that almost 37% of women experience hair thinning after menopause. Approximately 50% of all menopausal women will experience some degree of hair loss.

Hair follicles tend to shrink, the hair become thinner and it doesn't grow any more. The receding begins at the temples and thinning may be seen as a general pattern over the entire scalp.

Solutions To Prevent Hair Loss

  • Diet and exercise - strong, healthy hair is a result of good nutrition; eat foods that contain estrogen, like soy and yams. Exercise more, start by walking. In my opinion, walking is a top menopause treatment solution.

  • Take vitamins and minerals - especially B Complex, Zinc, Biotin, Iron.

  • Use herbs to balance hormones, like Black Cohosh, Sarsaparilla, Wild Yam.

  • Take Provillus - it contains Minoxidil, the only FDA approved ingredient for women. Their formula features the vitamins, minerals and herbs targeted for hair growth and vitality. It is a powerful combination of topical solution and tablets. The solution massaged into affected areas stimulates the hair follicles from outside to in and the tablets work from inside to out.

  • Take tablets only, like NuHair Hair Regrowth Tablets.

warning Be patient! It will take a little time for your hair follicles to get re-organized and back into production. Just as a seed in the ground doesn't show any activity at first, and then pushes up into the sunlight, you new hair will be doing the same thing. The sooner you get started, the sooner you start re-growing your own natural hair.

My Home Remedies Solutions

  • Nettle Leaf - add 4 tea bags to 4 cups of water, wash hair regularly with this infusion.

  • Linden Flowers - add 8 tea bags to 4 cups boiling water, boil for 20 min. Use the decoction to wash hair and also to massage the scalp.

  • Burdock Root - add 8 teaspoons of dried burdock root to 4 cups boiling water, boil for 20 min, strain. Wash hair and massage scalp.

  • Hair Mask for strengthening hair - one egg yolk, one teaspoon honey, 2 teaspoons fresh onion juice , 2 teaspoons shampoo. Spread this mixture on your hair, cover with a shower cap and a large towel and keep it on for two hours. Wash and rinse.

  • Dandruff treatment - bring to a boil 1 cup of apple vinegar, add 2 nettle tea bags, let it steep. Use the concoction for a month after washing hair. Do not rinse.

  • Rosemary - is used largely in cosmetics, especially for hair products, because of its effect in stimulating the hair-bulbs to renewed activity and preventing premature baldness. The best hair wash known is a mixture of Rosemary infusion and borax. It is also used for prevention of dandruff, a rinse to lighten blond hair, and a conditioner for all hair. I mix the infusion with shampoo to strengthen my hair, it is awesome!

Tips and Tricks

  • Trim hair - shorter is better; when loosing hair, a slightly layered bob will give your hair both movement and illusion of volume.

  • Color - if there is a contrast between hair color and skin, play it down by lightening your hair if the scalp is fair, or darken it if the skin is dark.

  • Style your hair with products that boost density.
